STRIVE Kicks Off
The Rotary Club of Rosemount kicked off the 2011-2012 STRIVE program
with a fabulous lunch celebration at noon on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011.
“We are so excited to once again be taking part in STRIVE,” said Rotary
Club of Rosemount President Denise Kniefel. “It’s an exciting program
that truly touches the lives of both the mentors and the students.”
Nine students from Rosemount High School (RHS) are participating in the
program and have been paired with nine mentors. Beginning Wednesday,
Nov. 2, mentors and students will convene every other Wednesday at 7:20
a.m.
The first two sessions of STRIVE will be focused on conversations
between mentors and students around the student’s career tools
portfolio. By reviewing their portfolios and using additional career
assessments, mentors and students will have discussions regarding the
student’s future goals, which the students will set at the following
session.
“We have a wonderful group of mentors and students this year. During the
kick off event and our first STRIVE meeting it was exciting to hear the
conversations and begin to see the relationships develop between the
mentors and their students,” said STRIVE Chair Lisa Lusk.
