Today we heard from Mark Jacobs. He has been the Director of the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board since 2001. Their mission is to lead, collaborate and provide linkages that facilitate workforce planning and supports economic development providing individuals, families, employers and the community opportunities to transform lives through optimal employment.
Just some of the services they provide include: Dislocated worker program ~ Drive Through Job Fairs ~ MN Family Investment Program ~ Resource Rooms & Workshops.
We also learned that the unemployment rate in Dakota County is higher than the State's rate and that this was not the case pre-COVID.
That pre-COVID, there were 5 job seekers for 10 jobs....now 8 job seekers for 1 job.
We heard about Traitify, a 90 second personality assessment (see photo)....give it a try.
