Today our club heard from Tom Neumann.  Tom is a humble veteran who works tirelessly (along with the rest of the committee) to help members of the military and their families as they prepare for, serve on,  and return from overseas deployment.
Things our club learned today about BYR-Rosemount:
*  BYR was started by Annette Kuyper in 2008, who worked with Gov Tim Pawlenty, who proclaimed Farmington as the first BYR City.
*  Rosemount became the 2nd Community to adopt the BYR mission (in 2010).
*  There are currently 90 BYR community networks in 250 cities in MN.
*  Rosemount BYR receives no outside funding....their Admn expenses are less than $100/year with an annual budget of $16k.
*  they recognize RHS Seniors going into the Military every Spring and sponsor 2 DCTC scholarships.

The organizers of Rosemount's effort typically meet at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of the month at the Rosemount Community Center.
